PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents adhesion of dust generated from a printed matter of plain paper on the surface of a printed matter of clean paper. SOLUTION: A print control unit 111 overwrites and stores a type of selected printing paper concerning a series of print jobs in a printing paper type memory 113 whenever the performance of the print jobs ends. In addition, when the type of the printing paper concerning the printing jobs whose performance is instructed via an operation instruction unit 102 is different from the type of the printing paper stored in the printing paper type memory 113, the printing jobs whose performance is instructed is performed by detecting that there is no printed matter on a paper output tray 28.
