摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orifice mechanism of a shock absorber, with a simple structure, for suitably absorbing and relieving a shock from a moment of its action, and exhibiting an approximate damping characteristic even in both compression operation and extension operation. SOLUTION: A liquid passage 5 for communicating oil between two chambers defined by a piston 4, is formed in the piston 4 inserted into a cylinder 2. Its liquid passage 5 is formed as cylindrical hole-shaped equal diameter parts 51 and 52 in both end vicinal parts, and a ball valve chamber 53 diametrically expanding in a taper shape toward a central part from both ends, is arranged between the equal diameter parts 51 and 52. A steel ball 55 having a larger diameter than the equal diameter parts 51 and 52, is movably stored in the ball valve chamber 53, and the flow passage is opened and closed by the movement of this steel ball 55.
