<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of drastically reducing the deterioration of toner and a functional member such as a developing roller, and prolonging the service life of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A one-component developing device includes at least a developer carrier 51, a developer supply member 52 supplying developer onto the developer carrier 51, and a developer replenishing part, and includes a developer stirring member 53 in the developer replenishing part. In the one-component developing device, a relation of yd>ydel>ya is obtained, where yd is the centroid position of the central cross-section of the developer carrier 51, ydel is the centroid position of the central cross-section of the developer supply member 52, and ya is the centroid position of the central cross-section of the developer stirring member 53; and a relation of S2>S1 is obtained, where S1 is the cross-sectional area of a space in a position higher than the centroid position ydel of the developer supply member 52, and S2 is the cross-sectional area of the space of the housing in a position lower than the centroid position ydel of the developer supply member 52, in the central cross-section space in the rotational axis direction of the developer carrier in the housing 60 of the developing device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
