PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compatibilizer for producing a polymer alloy by blending a polyphenylene ether-based resin and a liquid crystalline polyester, and a polyphenylene-based resin composition and a film using the same. SOLUTION: The compatibilizer for producing a polymer alloy is obtained by blending a polyphenylene ether-based resin and a liquid crystalline polyester. The compatibilizer includes a segment (A) solely consisting of glycidyl polymethacrylate and a segment (B) solely consisting of polystyrene, and is a block polymer having the following properties: (i) the weight ratio of the segment (A)/the segment (B) ((A)/(B)) is 0.04-1.0; (ii) the number-average molecular weight of the block polymer is 10,000-200,000; and (iii) the molecular weight distribution is 1.0-2.5.
