<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce and purify NOx in exhaust gas while avoiding a problem such as deterioration of fuel economy, and increase of emissions of HC, CO. <P>SOLUTION: This device includes an exhaust gas passage 3 in which exhaust gas of combustion in an engine 1 flows, a nitrogen oxide adsorption means 20 disposed in the exhaust gas passage 3 and adsorbing nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas, and a hydrogen supply means 23 supplying hydrogen into the exhaust gas passage 3 at an upstream side of the nitrogen oxide adsorption means 20, and reduces nitrogen oxide adsorbed to the nitrogen oxide adsorption means 20 by intermittently supplying hydrogen to the hydrogen supply means 23 under a condition where nitrogen oxide and oxygen exists in exhaust gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
