<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for enabling an information processing device to start processing required by a user quicker than the case that the information processing device is recovered from a power-saving state to an operating state after the authentication of the user who has requested the process succeeds. <P>SOLUTION: The configuration of the information processing device has an authentication processing management unit 3, an authentication history managing unit 4, a power source managing unit 5, and a power control unit 5. The authentication processing managing unit 3 requests an external authentication device to carry out the authentication of the user who has requested the process to the device, and the managing unit acquires an authentication result therefrom. The authentication history managing unit manages authentication history information including the authentication result of the user acquired by the authentication processing managing unit 3. The power source managing unit has a function of switching power states of the device.
