<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device and a radio communication method for reducing PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) without deteriorating reception states and transmission rates. <P>SOLUTION: The radio communication device 10 includes a radio communication section for providing a guard band in a channel band of an OFDM signal for communication. The radio communication device 10 is equipped with: a peak power detection section 14 for detecting the maximum peak power in a symbol of a baseband signal; a peak suppression wave storage section 18 for storing peak suppression waves generated by a subcarrier of the guard band with a transmission power lower than an average power of the baseband signal; peak control sections 16, 20 for controlling the conversion of the peak suppression waves read from the peak suppression wave storage section 18, based on the detected maximum peak power; a composite section 24 for composing the baseband signal and a signal of the peak suppression wave converted by the control of the peak control section; and a radio communication section 26 for transmitting the composed signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
