<p>A plastics holder 1 for accurately positioning a position sensor of an electric machine comprises a pocket 2 for holding the position sensor, an abutment 3, and biasing means 4 mountable to a fixture of the electric machine for biasing the abutment 3 relative to the fixture which may be the stator core 40. The sensor (Fig. 5, 34) may be a Hall sensor or an optical sensor. Surface 16 engages the stator pole surface and ridges 12 engage between the poles of the stator within the gap 44. The biasing means comprises cantilever springs 13,14 having end portions defining respective eyes which engage over posts 39 formed in the machine housing which posts also mount the stator. A printed circuit board 35 is also secured to the posts. The sensor is retained in pocket 2 between an abutment surface 5 and resilient walls (Fig. 1, 6 & 7).</p> |
