<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a booster pump for a low temperature fluid capable of enhancing pump efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This booster pump 10 for the low temperature fluid includes a piston 11 formed with a plurality of ring grooves 11a on an outer circumferential face, a plurality of piston rings 14 arranged in an inside of the ring grooves 11a, a cylinder block 12 for storing the piston 11 and the piston rings 14 in an inside of a cylinder 12a formed in its inside, and a suction valve 13 provided with a valve element 16 for opening and closing a flow passage for the low temperature fluid of 0°C or less sucked into the cylinder 12a, and is provided with an energizing member 22 for energizing the valve element 16 along an opening direction, and for maintaining the valve element 16 in an opened state, under the condition where internal pressure of the cylinder 12a is equal or little higher to/than the atmospheric pressure.
