<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly user-friendly intercom device capable of setting up an ID very easily and correctly. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When an extension intercom master unit 3 is installed to an intercom master unit 2, its own ID can be set up at the extension intercom master unit 3 by only inputting a combination of characters a1, a2, ... or selecting identifications b1, b2, .... Then, the ID is transmitted to intercom master unit 2 so as to perform ID setup for identifying the extension intercom master unit 3 at the intercom master unit 2. As compared with conventional operation where the ID setup work is needed at each of the extension intercom master unit side and the intercom master unit side, what is necessary is to perform the ID setup only at the extension intercom master unit 3 side.
