PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete crack index estimating method easily estimating crack index, and also to provide a concrete design method. SOLUTION: Reference conditions of a unit amount of cement, the temperature of external air, form conditions, and the type of cement are previously set as parameters, construction conditions, to obtain crack index I<SB>cr0</SB>under the reference conditions by a three-dimensional finite element method. Each parameter is changed one by one to obtain crack index by the three-dimensional finite element method. A ratio of a determined crack index to the crack index I<SB>cr0</SB>under the reference conditions is determined to set a plurality of correction coefficients k<SB>1</SB>-k<SB>4</SB>of each parameter. Each value of the correction coefficients k<SB>1</SB>-k<SB>4</SB>is determined on the basis of a unit amount of cement, the temperature of external air, form conditions, and the type of cement of actual construction conditions. By multiplying them by the crack index I<SB>cr0</SB>under the reference conditions, crack index I<SB>crx</SB>under actual construction conditions are estimated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
