A combined switch and fuse comprises an operating lever 7 projecting through a slot 8 in a removable cover 9 and a plate 13 movable with the lever and having tongues 13a which overlap the longitudinal edges of the slot to prevent the removal of the cover when the switch is " on. " In the " off " position the tongues 13a lie under a widened portion of the slot, thus allowing the cover to be removed. An indicator plate 5, formed of or covered with insulating material, may be slidably disposed above the plate 13 to move with the lever, the words " off," " on " being read through apertures in the cover 9 and a shield plate 10. Alternatively the indicator plate itself may be provided with the catch tongues 13a. A spring- loaded bolt 16 engages a movable part of the switch when the cover is off to prevent operation of the switch. |
