PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for safely producing a 1,2-benzoisothiazolin-3-one compound of a useful compound as an industrial antimicrobial agent or the like without using a harmful reagent in good yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing the 1,2-benzoisothiazolin-3-one compound represented by general formula (A) includes reacting 1,3-benzoxathiin-4-one-1-oxide compound represented by general formula (B) with alkylamines which may have a substituent.
