<p>Disclosed are an optical multiplexer to obtain high output light having a single wavelength and a fiber laser. An optical multiplexer is comprised of input portions (11, 12), a wavelength multiplexing portion (14), a multiplexed light converter (15), and an output portion (16). A plurality of lights having wavelengths ?1 and ?2 are input to the input portions (11, 12). The wavelength multiplexing portion (14) combines the different wavelengths ?1 and ?2 which have been input to the respective input portions (11, 12) to produce a single multiplexed light. Multiplexing the wavelengths ensures that the wavelengths are multiplexed without the loss. The multiplexed light converter (15) produces Raman light with at least one of the wavelengths ?1 and ?2 the multiplexed light output from the wavelength multiplexing portion (14) has, and converts the multiplexed light of wavelengths ?1 and ?2 from the wavelength multiplexing portion (14) into light of a single wavelength ?m contained in the wavelength band of the Raman light.</p> |
