<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens system, an imaging device and a camera, suitable for wide angle photography, and having respectively a short total lens length, a very small size, high resolution, a comparatively high zooming ratio, and high performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the zoom lens system including successively from the object side to the image side, the first lens group having a negative power, the second lens group having a positive power, and the third lens group having a positive power, when zooming from a wide angle end to a telescopic end at the imaging time, a lens group is moved along an optical axis so that an air interval between at least some two lens groups among the first lens group, the second lens group and the third lens group is changed, to thereby perform variable magnification, and the first lens group includes a lens element having a reflecting surface for bending a beam from the object, and a condition: 0.30<¾f<SB>G1</SB>¾/f<SB>T</SB><0.50 is satisfied. The imaging device and the camera are also provided. (f<SB>T</SB>/f<SB>W</SB>≥4.0, f<SB>G1</SB>: a synthetic focal distance of the first lens group, f<SB>T</SB>: a focal distance of the whole system at the telescopic end, f<SB>W</SB>: a focal distance of the whole system at the wide angle end).
