PURPOSE: A drum type washing machine and a door thereof are provided to prevent a door from opening late by preventing the particular portion of a part from being intensively worn out. CONSTITUTION: A drum type washing machine is composed of a housing, a door, a handle lever(61), and a hook lever(62). An opening is formed on the housing. A door opens and closes the opening. External force is applied to the handle lever. The hook lever cooperates with the handle lever. The hook lever hangs on the housing to make the state in which the door closes the opening maintain. The handle lever and the hook lever make surface-contact to cooperate each other.
