<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high manganese hot dip galvanized steel sheet having high ductility and high strength properties and used for an automotive body, structural material or the like, wherein a hot dip galvanized steel sheet of high manganese steel having excellent plating surface quality such as hot dip plating properties and plating adhesion can be easily produced by using high manganese steel as a plating stock. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a high manganese steel hot dip galvanized steel sheet having excellent plating surface quality is characterized in that, in the method for producing a high manganese steel hot dip galvanized steel sheet using high manganese steel as the stock, high manganese steel is selectively oxidized to be formed with an internal oxide and a porous surface oxide directly below the stock by the regulation of the dew point of an atmospheric gas, heating temperature and heating time, then, reduction treatment is performed in a reduction atmosphere, and thereafter, hot dip galvanizing is performed. According to this invention, a hot dip galvanized steel sheet of high manganese steel having excellent plating surface quality such as hot dip plating properties and plating adhesion can be easily produced.
