PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus achieving a battery pack having a structure solving the conventional problem of inability to attach a battery pack when having erroneously performed a battery pack attaching method. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, a first pawl 116 which is notched on the side corresponding to a lock part 112, the lock part 112 having a surface inclined in the direction b, and a second pawl 117 are disposed in a battery pack containing portion 111 in this order. When the battery pack 113 is attached to the battery pack containing portion 111 to be contained therein by a first attaching method, a second rib 115 of the battery pack 113 abuts on the lock part 112 without passing by the first pawl 116 of the battery pack containing portion 111 and the lock part 112 slides relative to the battery pack 113. When the battery pack 113 is attached to the battery pack containing portion 111 to be contained therein by a second attaching method, the second rib 115 of the battery pack 113 passes by the pawl 116 of the battery pack containing portion 111 and abuts on the lock part 112 and the lock part 112 slides relative to the battery pack 113.
