<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuisance call prevention apparatus of improved operability by simply registering the number for identifying a calling party even if close calling parties communicating with an operator who is a caller are increased. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A telephone adapter 1 which functions as a nuisance call prevention apparatus is connected between a PSTN and a telephone set 2. The telephone adapter 1 includes: a storage means for storing a called party telephone number by which a party communicating through the PSTN can be specified; and a control means for storing a telephone number indicating a called destination as a called party telephone number in an outgoing call to the PSTN, and in an incoming call from the PSTN, comparing the called party telephone number stored in the storage means with a caller telephone number indicating a calling source notified from the PSTN in the incoming call from the PSTN, and when both the telephone numbers coincide with each other, permitting a call.
