The method involves marking a defined solar fluid volume such that a characteristic is assigned to the solar fluid volume, and detecting local displacement of the marked solar fluid volume based on the characteristic. Temperature value of the defined solar fluid volume is increased with respect to neighboring solar fluid (F). A change in temperature gradient of the solar fluid within an area of a solar fluid heating circuit is detected. Upward gradient of the temperature gradient is examined by performing plausibility check. An independent claim is also included for a solar plant comprising a device for determining a switching point of a solar heating circuit regulator.
