摘要 The present invention relates to a position recognition method for a mobile robot using radio frequency identification (RFID), and to a mobile robot using the method. More specifically, the present invention relates to a position recognition method for a mobile robot which moves over the floor to which a plurality of RFID tags are attached at predetermined intervals, the method comprising the steps of: emitting an RFID signal to the plurality of RFID tags; receiving identification data and position data from the plurality of RFID tags; adjusting the strength of the transmission power with which the RFID signal is emitted, corresponding to the received position data of the plurality of RFID tags; and deducing the current position of the mobile robot by the received position data of the plurality of RFID tags and the strength of the adjusted transmission power. The present invention enables more accurate recognition of the position of the mobile robot by dividing the strength of the transmission power of an RFID reader into a plurality of levels, and altering the transmission power between these levels. In particular, the present invention enables accurate recognition of the position of the mobile robot even when the distance between the RFID tags is large, and consequently even when a small number of RFID tags are installed. Thus, the present invention is also highly advantageous economically in that it can reduce the cost of installing the RFID tags.
