PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength member which shows superior delayed fracture characteristics after having been formed, without severely regulating an ingredient and a structure of a steel sheet to be a base material. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the high-strength member TW includes: forming the steel sheet 1 having a tensile strength TS of 1,180 MPa or more into an aimed shape; then painting the steel sheet; and subjecting the painted sheet to heat treatment in a temperature range of 100-400°C for one second to 60 minutes.
