PURPOSE: A Z-axis and a W-shaft coordinate system method are provided to automatically correct a processing error by automatically performing the correction according to the length of a tool. CONSTITUTION: A Z-axis and a W-shaft coordinate system method are as follows. A tool spindle by a Z-axis and a W-shaft transfer units is returned to a first Z-axis original point and a first W-shaft original point of a machine coordinate system(C1). A workpiece coordinate is set to have a second Z-axis original point(C2). The second Z-axis original point is set by minus-shifting the first Z-axis original point to the first distance between the first Z-axis original point and the workpiece(D1). The work piece is transferred to the W-shaft to a second projection distance(D2) by the W-shaft transfer member. The second Z-axis original point is plus-shifted to the second projection distance. The work piece is transferred to the standby position along the Z-axis by the Z-axis transfer member. The second W-shaft original point is minus-shifted to the third distance.
