<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably carry out an ejection test when the ejection test at an ink ejection part is performed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An ejection test device includes the ink ejection part for ejecting ink onto a medium and radiates light to a pattern formed by the ink ejected to the medium to carry out ejection test at the ink ejection part based on reflected light from the medium. This ejection test device includes: a first light receiving unit for detecting diffusively reflected light from the medium; and a second light receiving unit for detecting the regularly reflected light from the medium. When performing the ejection test, there are cases in which the ejection test is carried out based on the result detected by the first light receiving unit and the ejection test is carried out based on the result detected by the second light receiving unit.
