<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon material superior in a quick charge-discharge characteristic, by restraining excessive reactivity with an electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon material for a lithium ion secondary battery is characterized in that (1) tap density is ≥0.75 g/cm<SP>3</SP>, (2) a Raman R value is ≥0.23, and a half value width of a D band appearing in the vicinity of a Raman spectrum of 1,358 cm<SP>-1</SP>is Δν<SB>D</SB><45 cm<SP>-1</SP>, and (3) 4 m<SP>2</SP>/g≤BET specific surface area (SA)≤11 m<SP>2</SP>/g. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
