<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encryption device in which wiring of a LAN port and a LAN cable is easy, upon a wiring connection of a network and a configuration change. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A repeater type encryption device 100 has a LANport0 and a LANport1. A storing portion 33 has router setting information in which a network type indicating whether a network is located on a plain text network side or an encrypted text network side for a first router on the plain text side and a second router on the encrypted text side, and an IP address are set. A determination block 25 detects a link-up of the LANport0 or the LANport1 when it occurs, transmits an ARP request including the IP address of the first router of the router setting information and the ARP request including the IP address of the second router from a port of the link-up detection. When an ARP response is received, an MAC address and a port having received the ARP response are set for an IP address coincident with the IP address included in the ARP request in the router setting information.
