<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase operation stability while performing EGR by arranging fresh air amount per bank in order in an internal combustion engine equipped with a supercharger and an EGR mechanism in each of a plurality of banks. <P>SOLUTION: A variable displacement turbocharger 14 is provided per bank. An EGR valve 40 for recirculating exhaust gas is provided per bank. An AFM 24 for measuring amount Ga of fresh air is provided per bank.
