PURPOSE: An active torque transmitting device is provided to transmit torque to an output shaft from an input shaft. CONSTITUTION: An active torque transfer device comprises a main housing(1), an input shaft(3), an output shaft(5), a multi-plate clutch(7), a dual ball ramp unit(9), and a return spring. The input shaft is rotatably installed in the main housing. The output shaft is serially installed making a coaxial shaft with the input shaft in the main housing. The multi-plate clutch varies the power transmission condition between the output shaft and the input shaft by the axial pressing force. The dual ball ramp unit comprises the double ball lamp structure overlapped in the axial direction. The return spring is installed in order to be offered the elastic force to the direction contracting the axis direction extension displacement of the dual ball ramp unit.
