PURPOSE:To enable to obtain highly corrosion-resistant air conditioner which has large cooling capacity, by providing a baggy evaporating element made of porous sheet consisting of hydrophobic polymeric material, which checks water but permeates steam through it, in an air passage on the downstream side of a condenser. CONSTITUTION:An evaporating element 9 is made of sheets consisting of hydrophobic, polymeric material such as polyethylene or polypropylene and is installed in an air passage on the downstream side of a condenser 2. Drain condensed on the surface of a cooling unit 4 is collected in a drain pan 5, passing through a forwarding pipe 6, introduced into a baggy, hollow structural body 10a from the inlet pipe 11a of an evaporating element 9, filling up the structural body 10a with water. The air which has been heated while it is passing through the condenser 2, is fed into the air passage 13 in an evaporating element 9 and is circulated on the surface of a hollow structure body 10a. The hot air heats the water in the structural body 10a. The heated water is evaporated a lot, turning into steam and permeating through minute pores of polymeric sheets 10, getting into the air passage 13, and is discharged from the evaporating element 9 together with air. |
