<p>An image processing apparatus, image processing method and program wherein the quality of inter-prediction images can be improved. An arithmetic unit (115) adds a transform coefficient as inverse-orthogonal-transformed and supplied by an inverse orthogonal transform unit (114) to an inter-prediction image supplied by a switch (214) for decoding. A motion predicting/compensating unit (212) motion-compensates the decoded image, based on blur information that is transmitted by an image encoding apparatus in correspondence to a compressed image and that is representative of a variation in blur between images. A blur predicting/compensating unit (213) blur-compensates the image as motion-compensated and supplies, as an inter-prediction image, the resultant image as motion-compensated and blur-compensated to the switch (214). This invention is applicable to, for example, an image decoding apparatus that performs decoding by use of H.264/AVC system.</p> |
