<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card processing device for enabling a regular card user to surely obtain a desired processing result using the card. <P>SOLUTION: When updating an IC card, the face of a person who inserts the IC card is authenticated as well as authentication by a password is performed to monitor one person substitution for another. When no person substitution is assumed by the monitoring, the IC card is returned after rewriting data on the IC card.
