<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a signal coder, to reduce image deterioration, to enhance immediacy and transmission quality. SOLUTION: A transmission coder directly receives a base band signal BS from a camcorder. An MPEG encoder 20 compresses a digital video signal in compliance with the MPEG standards and an audio encoder 21 compresses a digital audio signal at a bit rate. An ES/TS circuit 22 divides each of the compressed digital video signal and the compressed digital audio signal into signals having a specified length, applies time division multiplexing to them while adding time control information so as to convert them into one stream suitable for transmission. A DVB-ASI circuit 23 converts the output of the circuit 22 into a DVB-ASI signal with a limited format capable of transmitting via a coaxial cable. A transmitter transmits wirelessly the DVB-ASI signal.</p> |
