PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange so that a design can be formed at a desired spot by the orientation of a magnetic material regardless of the back shape of a molded article. SOLUTION: First, an in-mold coating mold equipped with a back forming die, a face forming die and a coat forming die with a magnet, is used to form a molding cavity for forming a molded article between the back forming die and the face forming die by closing the back forming die and the face forming die. Next, the molded article is formed by filling the interior of the molding cavity with a molding resin and hardening it by cooling, and the back forming die and the face forming die are opened in such a state that the back forming die retains the molded article. After these procedures, a mold opposed to the back forming die is switched from the face forming die to a coat forming die, then the back forming die for retaining the molded article and the coat forming die are closed, and a coating cavity for coating the molded article with a magnetic coating material containing a magnetic material, is formed between the molded article and the coat forming die. After the interior of the coating cavity is filled with the magnetic coating material and an orientation pattern of the magnetic material is formed by the magnet, the magnetic coating material is applied to the molded article in monolithic coating fashion by hardening the magnetic coating material.
