PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect a printed medium while it is being conveyed along a conveying path.

SOLUTION: A controller 400 reads the conveyance stop position of a printed medium P stored in a RAM 290 when an emergency stop occurs during a printing state, and determines whether the printed medium is stopped in any unidentified position not detected by a conveying position detection sensor 250 (a determination means). When a fore end of the printed medium P is stopped in an unidentified position at the emergency stop, the controller 400 sets a range of a mask processing section (a section A) for performing the mask processing of the conveying path and/or a non-mask processing section (a section B) not for performing the mask processing (a mask processing section setting means) according to the stop position of a fore end of the printed medium P (the distance from a tray paper feed port S0). When the fore end of the printed medium P passes the section B when restarting the printing, the state is changed to that in which the mask processing is released (canceled).
