FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical and chemical-pharmaceutical industries. The method for making cellulose surgical cotton involves mechanical pre-treatment of cotton cellulose fibres, chemical processing of the fibres in alkaline medium, water flushing and bleaching, washing and drying. The drying cycle is followed with additional physical-mechanical effect on the cellulose fibre by counterrotated rolling at temperature 50-200C and contact time of the fibres and rollers during 0.5-2.0 seconds.
