<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Li-Ni system composite oxide having improved thermal stability and alkalinity. <P>SOLUTION: Li-Ni system composite oxide particle powder contains Mn and Co and/or Al. Co and Al are present within the particles, the concentration of Mn has a concentration gradient in the radial direction of the particle, and the concentration of Mn of the particle surface is higher than that of the center of the particle.
