<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish and display, in an easy-to-understood manner of the photographic video display area of a control object camera on a screen, on which a multi-viewer display is performed. <P>SOLUTION: The video signal processing apparatus includes: a plurality of input sections 10, to which a video signal outputted from an imaging apparatus whose operation is controllable or a video signal outputted from an apparatus whose operation is not controllable is inputted; and an input selection section 20, which selects the video signal outputted as primary output or standby output and the video signal inputted from the controllable imaging apparatus from among a plurality of video signals. Then, the respective video signals selected by the input selection section 20 are allocated to an object area among a plurality of areas. At this time, a frame for the area to display a primary output video is generated in a first color, and a frame for the area to display a standby output video is generated in a second color. An identifier indicating an input video from the controllable imaging apparatus is generated in a third color.
