PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and structure for fitting an exterior component having a switch which can decrease cost by a bracket reduced in thickness and weight, and can further decrease cost and improve fitting efficiency by a reduced number of components such as screws. SOLUTION: The method for fitting a finisher 2 having a switch 3 on a surface of an outer panel 12 attaches the switch 3 to the finisher 2 by inserting the switch's push button 31 into a mounting hole 22 formed at the finisher 2 with a base 32 provided on a base of the push button 31 engaged with a rear-side opening edge of the mounting hole 22, clamps the switch 3 between a back surface of the finisher 2 and the bracket 4, and while making the bracket 4 engaged with the finisher 2 by an engagement means A, fits the finisher to the outer panel 12 with the back surface of the bracket 4 supported by an outer surface of the outer panel 12.
