<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device for cylinder lock enabling a shutter plate to return to a closing position automatically from an opening position in accordance with pulling-out of a mechanical key and preventing the shutter plate from moving to the closing position automatically when necessary. <P>SOLUTION: In this protection device for cylinder lock, a cam means 65 makes a first engaging member 63 engage with an interlocking member 60 moving in the interlocking relationship with the shutter plate 34 from a closing position side in accordance with the operation of the shutter plate 34 from the closing position to the opening position, makes a second engaging member 64 engage with the interlocking member 60 from the closing position side in accordance with insertion of the mechanical key, releases the engagement of the first engaging member 63 with the interlocking member 60 in accordance with turning operation to ON position, and releases the engagement of the second engaging member 64 with the interlocking member 60 in accordance with the pulling-out of the mechanical key.
