Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising (a) a peptide, a polysaccharide, or a glycoprotein; (b) nanoparticles, consisting essentially of (i) a surfactant; and (ii) an organic wax having a melting point from 40 deg C to 60 deg C; and (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; wherein the peptide, polysaccharide, or glycoprotein is electrostatically attached to the surface of the nanoparticle.
