APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ALARM USING THE FACE RECOGNITION

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling an alarm using a face recognition function are provided to maximize the utility of an alarm function by recognizing the eye of a user in order to release the alarm. CONSTITUTION: An image input unit(100) is driven under an alarm generation state. The image input unit takes a photograph of the face image of a user. An eye region detector(110) detects the eye region from the input face image. An alarm control unit(150) controls the generation of the alarm. The alarm control unit verifies the eye state of the user. Based on the verification result, a control operation which stops the alarm is performed.
