A carton or partially formed flat-form carton, and blank and method for making the same having a reinforced carrying handle. The carton and/or partially formed flat-form carton comprising a series of carton walls including a composite end wall (324a, 326a, 322a, 328a) hinged to a top wall (314). The composite end wall comprising a top end closure panel (324a) having a first hand gripping means (350a) and a first handle reinforcing panel (354a) having a second hand gripping means (352a) disposed for alignment with said first hand gripping means (350a). The first handle reinforcing panel (354a) is hinged to the top end closure panel (324a) by a fold line (358a) disposed opposite to and angled acutely to the hinged connection between the top end closure panel (324a) and the top wall (314).
