The principal objective of this invention is a method for designing a reverberating acoustic chamber with dimensions (L 1 , L 2 , L 3 ) and with a spatially and spectrally uniform acoustic field; the steps of the method are: select one of the dimensions L3; obtain the functions L pm (L 1 ,L 2 ) (mean value of the acoustic field) and s(L 1 ,L 2 ) (mean quadratic deviation of the acoustic field); and select, on the basis of the functions obtained in the previous step, the optimum L1 and L2 dimensions that provide the most uniform acoustic field.
