<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an overcurrent low and improve a current-limiting performance in order to reduce thermal and electromagnetic load to constituting parts in downsizing of a breaker. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This circuit breaker is equipped with a fixed contactor furnished with a fixed contact, a movable contactor furnished with a movable contact, an open-close mechanism in which the movable contactor is actuated and the fixed contact and the movable contact are opened and closed, and an arc-extinguishing device to extinguish arc generated when the fixed contact and the movable contact in a contact state are separated. At a part exposed to the generated arc, an insulating molding material for arc-extinguishing is arranged which contains at least either one of an aliphatic polyester resin or a resin in which polysaccharides are used as a raw material. By such a constitution, by a gas generated by exposure to the arc, the overcurrent in a large current break can be suppressed low and the circuit breaker superior in breaking performance can be obtained.
