PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce burdens on a driver since a display mode is switched by operating a changeover switch by the driver and the operation puts burdens on the driver in a vehicle peripheral image display. SOLUTION: A reverse signal, a brake signal and a door opening signal are gathered as vehicle state information, and when it is estimated that the driver has executed the operation of opening the door of a driver's seat and moving back the vehicle while confirming the rear distance of the vehicle on the basis of the gathered vehicle state information, information indicating the predetermined driving operation is learned and stored in a memory (Fig.3 (not shown in the figure)). When determining that it is in the situation where the driver is to execute the operation of opening the driver's seat and moving back the vehicle while confirming the rear distance of the vehicle on the basis of the vehicle state information and information stored in the memory, a bird's-eye view mode is selected as a display mode (Fig.9 (not shown in the figure)).
