<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a new medicinal use of 15, 15-difluoroprostaglandin F<SB>2α</SB>derivative. <P>SOLUTION: As the result of the research for finding a new medical use of the derivatives of 15, 15-difluoroprostaglandin F<SB>2α</SB>, in the European phase III clinical investigation of tafluprost; a derivative of 15, 15-difluoroprostaglandin F<SB>2α</SB>, for the patients of open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, it was found that it includes eyebrow growth, hard hair making and color change actions, that is, hair (eyebrow) growth acceleration effect. Therefore, the 15,15-difluoroprostaglandin F<SB>2α</SB>derivative is useful as a hair growth accelerator, and it is expected as a preventing or treating agent of disease relating to hair such as defluvium capillorum, a hair-care product for the purpose of hair increase and hair growth, or an effective component of hair cosmetics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
