PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that in the case of forming a pencil by creating a pencil lead whose hardness is less than 6B, and sandwiching the pencil lead between wooden shafts, if the pencil is put into a sharpener (pencil sharpener) so as to sharpen the tip thereof, the pencil shows a remarkable tendency that the pencil lead is almost surely broken near a boundary between the wooden shaft and the exposed pencil lead part when manually sharpening the pencil, or in more detail, when using a portable sharpner, so-called, a pocket sharpener. SOLUTION: There is disclosed the pencil formed by sandwiching the pencil lead whose hardness is less than 6B between the wooden shafts, wherein upon manufacturing the pencil, an adhesive containing epoxy resin having rubber-elasticity is used so as to prevent the pencil lead from being broken when using the pocket sharpener.
