<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device on which image display and touch input are feasible. <P>SOLUTION: On an inner surface of one substrate 3, which is one substrate of a pair of substrates 2, 3, there are provided a plurality of pixel electrodes 4 and a plurality of TFTs 5 which are respectively connected with the pixel electrodes 4, which are turned on by supply of a scanning signal from scanning lines 11 to electrically connect the pixel electrodes 4 to signal lines 12 to which a data signal is supplied. On an inner surface of the other substrate 2, there is provided an opposed electrode 16 which forms a plurality of pixels in areas facing the plurality of pixel electrodes 4. A plurality of touch input contact points 16a, which protrude at a height smaller than the gap between the pair of substrates 2, 3, are provided on the opposed electrode 16, respectively and partly corresponding to the plurality of pixels on a plurality of prescribed positions, and which are brought into contact with the pixel electrodes 4 by flexural deformation caused by a pressing force of a touch from the outside surface side of the observer's side substrate 2.
