<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery decreasing generation of internal short circuit and enhancing reliability by preventing movement of spatters to the inside of a current collector when a current collector is resistance-welded to the cores of an electrode body of the sealed battery having the exposed parts of a positive electrode core and a negative electrode core at both ends. <P>SOLUTION: The sealed battery includes an electrode assembly 11 in which a plurality of positive electrode cores and a plurality of negative electrode cores are exposed at both ends, current collectors 18 resistance-welded to both the sides of the plurality of cores on at least one side, and current collector receiving parts 19, and a through-hole 30 is formed in at least one of the current collectors 18 and the current collector receiving components 19, and the resistance-welding is performed at the rim of the through-hole 30. Spatters 26 generated during resistance-welding are captured in the through-hole 30 and rarely enter the electrode assembly 11 or splash out to the exterior. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
