<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the return time in an image forming apparatus when the apparatus is returned from a power saving state to an operation state. <P>SOLUTION: In this image forming apparatus 1, an internal LAN (Local Area Network) monitors 29, 39, 49, 59, 69, 79, 89, and 99 acquire variation information about variation of setting in each unit detected by a detecting means arranged in each unit.
